I’ve got an old jealous mother in law
Every woman she meets is a shadow eclipsing her son
I don’t care as long as she is good to our little one
But it’s a hunter’s moon after the harvest is done,
a hunter’s moon and I am the hunted one.
I know the road and I’d leave if I could go
but the rent is paid, the tank is filled with oil.
I’d rather live my days in fantasy, turning pages
than give in to the bitter queen with the poison apple.
I heard about a woman like her, could prick your finger
I heard about a woman like her, deadly splinter
I heard about a woman like her, could lock you in a tower
And it’s a hunter’s moon after the harvest is done
a hunter’s moon and I got it comin.
I’ve got an old jealous mother in law.
If I can love her I can overcome her.

My heart melts for 'Back to the Woods', and I would have ended up buying the CD even if it was just that song on it's own. Throughout the whole album, the melodies are incredibly smooth and textured, while the background instruments intimately fuse with the autoharp in the best possible way. Alex Marshall
